Micah Brown is CEO of Centiment and highly committed to minority causes, he has been writing code since 14 and likes to explore ways to change the world using technology. He first founded filmfundr, to move forward the needs on women and other minorities in media and sees that as a central theme of centiment.
Micah is a visionary technologist with an intersection of skills consisting of data and algorithm understanding, HCI-centric digital technologies, financial services, financial engineering and media services.
He has over 10 years of experience (up to SVP) across companies like Aon, Barclays, NBC and Viacom. Micah has a deep technological understanding and also a strong commitment to social causes; at the centre of Centiment and FilmFundr are the need to level the playing field in media for minorities.
Luke Schantz is a multi-disciplined creative and technical professional who helps businesses solve problems and build scalable infrastructure. He is passionate about what he does and works hard to provide value through every interaction.
Notably, Luke spent 5 years working with the Blue Man Group. His creative work with them has been seen by millions of people world wide. He is a featured influencer for 3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) and founder and CTO of the nTangle Corporation, for which he built an online interactive video platform.
In addition to his professional works, Luke is passionate about and active in a variety of Maker and Creative Engineering endeavors. During 2013 Luke was a Senior Projects advisor for Drexel University Engineering Students. He has taught courses in Multi-Media Programing, 3D Design, Animation, 3D Printing and Electronics. He has also been a guest lecturer at NYU, The New School & Temple University. He and his wife were the first couple ever 3D laser scanned on their wedding day. He also makes robots.
DeShuna Spencer is CEO of kweliTV and radio host of emPower Hour on DC’s 89.3 FM WPFW. Previously, she served as publisher of emPowermagazine.com where she launched the emPower Players Awards honoring community activists of color. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Spencer served as Director of Communications & Managing Editor for EdMarket. A Memphis native, Spencer graduated from Jackson State University where she studied communications and journalism. She has written for The Clarion-Ledger, The Oakland Tribune, the Crisis Magazine, AOL and the Washington Examiner. A former AmeriCorps*VISTA and Chips Quinn Scholar, Spencer is a 2012 40under40 recipient by The Envest Foundation. In 2014, Spencer received the "Who's Got Next" award by the National Action Network. She was also the 2014 winner of Unity Journalist’s NewU Start-up Competition. Spencer recently completed her first documentary, Mom Interrupted.
